Recently, I looked up the vehicle details on the DVLA's website for some cars I know have been scrapped. However, one is showing up on the website as not taxed, and one isn't showing up at all. Why is This? Are there different processes for scrapping a vehicle? Someone help me out here.

I just think it's weird how some cars are shown as scrapped by not appearing on the DVlA database, and some are just shown as untaxed and without an MOT. Wouldn't the scrap dealer/garage get done for not declaring the car off road?

If a certificate of destruction has been issued it will disappear from the check able database, if it hasn't and is just signed off as "with trade" it'll sit as no tax/no mot.

Cars can be with trade pretty much indefinitely.
Thanks for the help everyone. So what does 'with trade' mean?

Also, another question. Why do some cars appear on askmid but not the DVLA's website? For example, Y114 RBU. Ford Focus. I know it hasn't been scrapped because it's on askmid as insured, so why isn't it showing up on the DVLA's site?
