As a mid 50's motorsport/clssic car enthusiast I find myself in the suprising position of being due a child (boy) later in the year, only a 24 year gap from the last one.

I have suggested to the namimg committee "Enzo", "Dino", "Innes" all of which have been vetoed, I would like a 60's motorport related name "Graham" won't fly as there are too many in the family already.

I need something that has a motorsport heritage to it that the committee will go with while probably not realising the connection. I might try "Stirling" but all suggestions gratefully received.

I've also just discovered this cruel thing called paternity leave, I will gladly take a week off in order to buy scaletrix, mini moto X bike, suitable motorsport posters for his bedroom, but apparently some people actually take significant time off work to do this.

I am mindful that if I Overdo this he could end up being a vegetarian cyclist in later life but am prepared to take the risk

While he's a toddler I could call him Pastor as he would be constantly bumping into things but not likely to get past the committee

Thank you all

I like the idea of Archie or Tyrell, I was always a big fan of Ken, David Purley was a proper gent.

As to finding myself in the suprising (sic) position I have a 23 yr old son from marriage Mk l so not too much of a gap then, the thought of being mid 70s by the time he leaves home is scary, what should be toy manmaths purchases will become child/school fee spending also not being able to get grumpy when other peoples kids are making a racket in public will be greatly missed.

Got taken "buggy" shopping, my god they are the size of boat trailers now, tragically they don't fit in a 996, so less chance of him leaking/overflowing onto my nice clean interior.

Congratulations OP!

Don't suppose Cosworth would get past the committee?

Failing that most of the good 60's ones seem to have been mentioned, but I didn't see a mention of Mike as in Hawthorne (or Hailwood if you like bikes too), Phil as in Hill or Dan as in Gurney - could even consider John as in Surtees. Nobody likely to ever win world titles on both 2 and 4 wheels again.

If 70's can be considered I like the idea of Gerry or Ayrton, or maybe James as in Hunt - that must get past the committee surely?

More recently if you like bikes would Valentino work?

Good luck anyway and enjoy the toy shopping!
Not sure cosworth would work with surname. wadsworth
