Busy alloy wheel design

Chap at work purchased himself a nearly new Insignia estate recently. It has these alloys on:



To me, they look far too busy and don't really work.

Anyone else have any examples of this sort of wheel design? Each to their own, of course.

It would be so much better if they were white. But not just any white, the whitest white you have ever seen.
