I've got a Fiat 500 with chequered graphics stickers on the roof. I thought I'd have a change and replace them with the Italian flag coloured stripe over the bonnet/roof, but I cant get the darned black squares off the roof. They're really welded on. The car is an 08 plate, so they've been there a while.

Any ideas about how they will come off as a DIY job, or how much it might cost a detailer (do they do this??) or similar to do it?

Interesting. It does stay in the sun all day, and that didnt make a difference. I tried a razor blade glass-scraper, but that didnt even lift a corner!

I'll try a hairdryer.

We used to boiling water when I did my apprenticeship in body repairs wouldn't go near it with a heat gun however careful you are
I tried boiling water from the kettle, and to a large extent it worked. However it took me about 10 mins and a whole kettle to remove one little square, and it still left all the glue residue on the paint. Extrapolate this to a whole roof load of about 40 squares, means I aint got the will power to DIY.

So need to pay someone to do it for me. Should I go to a standard garage, or is it a job for a detailer, or is it another trade?
