Is it worth chipping my Touareg?

So recently I purchased a 05 VW Touareg 3.0 tdi (130k) and was wondering if it was worthwhile getting it chipped? We are looking at a £400 cost.
I think a power upgrade would be nice, although I don't want to destroy my autobox. I am only towing motorbikes with it and perhaps a track car. The main requirement is the MPG benifit to an already pretty frugal (for what it is) 3.0 diesel.

Well I dont feel like I have shortage of power and I dont drive it in a sporting manner unless keeping momentum at low revs is a sport. However I am thinking of MPG and efficiency.
Maybe I should leave well alone. Its already a good package. I am unaware of them being fragile, my mechanic buddy seems to rate the powerplant, which is shared with the Q7 and other VAG models.
