Best HPI Check?

I need to HPI check a car I am looking to buy. I've thought about using a company I have used before but they do not send out certificates of proof unless I want to pay extra for it (£12.95 inc the check). It is guaranteed up to £10k though, and the car itself I am looking to buy is less than £10k.
Can anyone recommend any others to try? Is having the certificate important seeing as how everyone (they do, right?) HPI checks a car before they buy? (of a certain value - no point HPI checking a £500 gift)...
