Golf R against WRX STI is a test we've been planning for a while now. The Golf has been here since March and the Subaru since, well, for a very long time. Seems Dan is still quite keen on Subarus...

But the stars have finally aligned to bring the two together in the same place at the same time. It's a comparison you can watch on PHTV in the near future, part of a farewell to the STI as it returns to Subaru very soon. Can the Golf's freakish all-round ability beat the Subaru's more immersive, exciting drive? Have the Germans really beaten the Japanese at £30K, 300hp, all-wheel drive road rockets?
