Help me haggle (Ovlov content)

Well my £5k absolute top budget for our "occasional tip and family" car is blown as I "must" have the latest version V70.

Can you experienced hagglers give me some pointers for haggling an already reasonably priced car from a specialist that looks in good nick - or is the best achievable simply getting worn tyres done and thanking my lucky stars the engine management light is off.

I do realise I can say "can you do any better mate" but this being PH I await sage advice mixed with sarcasm and downright ridicule as were all powerfully built goatee wearing hipster directors are we not?

I have looked at 3 today, 2 had the engine service message up and the third wouldnt rev or kick down - I asked if it was in winter mode but the button near the gear stick (2003) wouldnt "press" it was either stuck in or its not a button - also the DSC or whatever far right suspension button didnt light up - thats when I decided I need to spend more.

Im just not finding one (I cant travel too far) as I said looked at 3 today inc a 2008 XC70 and was disappointed, I was tempted by an A6 Avant 2.7d but I hanker after a Ovlov as I have the worlds best specialist on my doorstep

Lovely car but the heated seats are not present but standard for the year - very odd, would they have been deleted ?

I agree on older being better they seem more solid, I finish my current project in a week so will take time out to travel a bit further afield and look. Must be auto and in a perfect world XC70, SE Lux, blue and magnolia / cream.

It was a dealer. Depends how far your search parameters were set I suppose; it was about 150 miles south of you!

I was only looking 50 miles but in Autotrader miles thats Birmingham to Carlisle !!! I am also only searching auto boxes - assume auto ? colour is lovely, I think its a special colour for the yachty edition?

Thus is unusual and if it wasn't so expensive I would be tempted but £10k - ouch

Well I will know tomorrow, I will either have more 80 mile a day commuting for x months or no commuting and the car will be the back up to the EV cars. (as I thought originally)

Problem is once I see something I ALWAYS suffer from "mission creep" and want just a bit more spec or the nicer interior.

Lets see what monday brings then we can get Volvo`d to suit.
