In the market for a new Audi? Prime time...but will be even better in a month.

Former motor-trade friend, advises that Audi (and most VAG) cars are being given away to boost sales post-emissions scandal. (hence why the Golf was very nearly October's best selling car). S models are the biggest/best offers - hence a sudden spike in 65 plate S's on the road, but all are being heavily promoted on finance. This week he's been offered

S8 - £520/mth
SQ5 - £340/mth
Golf R - £250/mth
Toureg - c£200/mth

All on 3yr/12k deals.

....but, he's told the deals will get even better in a month.

Those deals don't mean anything without knowing what deposit is required for each.
Some 36+1, Others 36+3.

Not a stupid high deposit scam.

EG. the S8 was £1000 down.

I was trying to get a deal on one this weekend, 20% off list! but still more expensive than current lease deals, so I haven't seen these appear... A contact would be nice please? Just about to order a merc and would much prefers a SQ5 or Tourag!
As for contacts....these are all just from main dealers with a tiny bit of pushing. If you struggle any further, shout, I'll find a contact name for you.

There are 12 65-plate Toureg's in the school car park at drop-off now. 11 in white. They're giving them away.

How do they do Touareg and Golf?
For the hard of thinking....substitute the word 'Audi' for the name of the appropriate VAG brand. If you need further help, suggest throwing your car keys away. You are too stupid to drive on the road. wink

Seems Porsche have similar deals. Pal just picked up a mid-spec'd Cayenne Diesel for a fiver over £500/mth. Deposit covered by dealer/Porsche FS. 12k per year, from Stratstones

Well done to your pal!

Do you have the link to the £200 Touareg please?

Thanks
As above, message left for original guy to forward the contact he uses. He usually uses Audi Crewe (for Audi), so that will be a good starting point.

Maybe wanting to share intel (I'm an anti-Audi man, no reason to push them). But you'll read it as you want....

It's contract hire - there isn't a deposit.

If you mean they covered the upfront payment then I don't believe whoever told you that. And how would they additionally get a cash discount - by cashback? rofl

That deal overall isn't much cheaper than what's on VW's website. And VW's excess mileage charge is lower.
VW (assume FS) covered the upfront/deposit, the dealer also discounted the sale price (i.e, the amount the finance is based on).

So if it's close to VW website offer, everyone can get one for £0 upfront & £217 per month. QED.

That is so far removed from the offer you claimed it is ridiculous.

I have to say I'm now as certain as can be that you were talking nonsense.

It's a shame but I suspected as much.

Oh well :-(
Nothing upfront, £200/mth.

This women got nothing upfront and £217/mth - and that was just from her local VW dealer.

That's so far removed...?

You forgot they get a cash discount too. wink

Seriously - someone is having you on. I know people who have bought cars on PCP and absolutely insist that the deposit is refundable at the end of the deal.
I got a discount off the price of mine (given by the dealer) so BMW FS were financing less. It's hardly a unicorn concept.

So let me get this straight op.

So if i walk in to a audi dealership they will pay the deposit or initial rental?

are you on drugs they might be struggling but not much!
Not quite sure why this is so difficult for you to grasp.

The last three BMWs I've bought (rented/leased/PCP'd/whatever the pedants want to call it) I have been given a deposit contribution. The last BMW I bought, that deposit contribution was well into £5-figures. My Father-in-law's Merc had the same thing. My business partner's Porsche had the same thing. My neighbour's Audi had the same thing.

All manufacturers/dealers do it when you use their finance.

OK - finally tracked him down.

Offers were from a variety of providers, but most can be found here: http://www.contracthireandleasing.com They change all the time.

The £520/mth S8 is still there
The SQ5 has hardened to £360/mth (but set to drop early Dec)
The Golf R has softened to £212/mth

The Touareg (which was £219 not £200, apologies, but for a R-Line not SE) was a VW offer and will be back, maybe stronger, early Dec. Best on the site is £242, again for R-Line.

Now over to the cardigan-wearers to deride it all... ;-)

Where is the £520pm S8 with £1k down? The only S8 I can see with those monthlies is £5k down + VAT!

Cheapest SQ5 on a 3+35 is £443 + VAT!

Cheapest Touareg £338 + VAT

Look harder wink . S8 from Coventry Audi. 3+35, £528

SQ5 & Touareg as above (list not in price order)

....but if you think it's st thats fine. You can do your own leg work and find a better deal. For me, an S8 on a 3+35 at £528 is pretty good going. Others will obviously disagree. Each to their own.
