An American car forum has had a battle royal over this one so I thought I'd put it to you guys. Which is the better car i y o?
Both over £40,000 new, not at all cheap. (I'd take an M2 but that wasn't in the debate).

I would fall the side of the RS3, I think. 25% more cylinders and 25% more cubic capacity, a lower state of tune for the same bhp, pretty much and a far nicer sound. Easier to get another 80 bhp out of, too.

Just a shame the GTI has always been so weedy on performance.

Neither look good enough at the price for my liking, but somehow the RS3 looks less chavvy. The red detailing inside the AMG is awful. The nicer engine in the Audi also pushes me that way. The AMG A45 as it now seems to be called is better than it was, the updates are good, but it needs to look better imo.
£40K for either of these? It makes me realise what great value I got recently, for a January 2013, M3 E92 V8 Ltd Edition, at ten grand less!
Looks, sound, power, fun, performance, quality; it's got the lot.

The A45 is a much nicer car on 18s I agree.
My stripped out mainly track-use Cayman S ran 17s and was all the better for it. The wheels were much lighter than the 19s and the ride was way better.
