What the hell are these monstrosities? Had a vehicle behind tonight (Pug 207) that had the most horrible lights fitted. They were piercingly bright, seemed to cut into my eyes and had a glaring blue tint to them.

They surely can't be legal as they were worse than full beam and were dipped.

What sort of muppet fits this st to their car?

Oh yes, I did pop the central mirror to its dimmed setting, but the lights still glared at me through the wing mirrors. It was like I was stuck in a spot light trying to escape from a mental institution.

I guessed they were HID, but it was like they were on steroids.

Really, really bright. Far more instense than any kit I have seen in the past.

Badly fitted HID kit, all the kids have them because they want you to think they're 207 verve came with xenon lights :-)
Mostly on Mark 5 golfs around here.
The car that is the choice of the chav.

I know there are owners that aren't chavs, but loads of them seem to be covered in stty plastic parts, seem lowered far too much and driven by people who have one hand on top of the steering wheel whilst leaning over the gear knob.

LED's perhaps?

I've go bixenons from retrofitsource in both of my cars, they're bloody brilliant (sic) in a headlight race.
Proper LED's have a distinct shape don't they? These things seemed to blur the whole light fitting.

Do they also have the seat back at a rakish angle?
I've seen heads tapping the rear window, so yes. smile

The mark 4's seem to be heavily bastardised now too.

The older Audi TT's are getting it now too. There is a ruined one in my local town with a 'because Audi' sticker in the window.
