If one had a supply of veg oil for nothing and wanted to mess around with an old derv snotter for shopping/general running around/park anywhere duties, is there any easy way (I.e. By model year) which fuel pump a 1.9 or more specifically 1.5D peugeot engine has? The more mechanically minded person may be able to have a look under the bonnet or whatever but for the mechanically useless....

Thanks

1.9D or 1.5D? They were never in the same cars.

1.5 - AX, 106, Saxo, Metro
1.9 - ZX, 306, Xsara, BX. Xant, 405, 406, Rover 2/400

1.9, if you want to run on veg, then Bosch. Look at the front of the pump, to the left of the front of the engine, just inboard of the cambelt cover. If there's a big cylindrical thing sticking forward off the front, it's Lucas. Look closely - it says on various bits of the pump.

Personally, though, I'd buy a good Lucas car over a mediocre Bosch one... Oh, wait. I have.
Thanks, that's really helpful! When googling I can't seem to find a massive amount of information.

I mention the 1.5D as there's a tidy 106 local to me for sale and it would do the job perfectly but I do prefer something bigger like 306/406 or the xantias. They do silly mpg anyway so the veg thing isn't a necessity but could be fun.
