PGO Automobiles is a French car manufacturer, producing exclusive series of sports cars.

Did you know this brand? Have you ever driven any PGO?

They look absolutely gopping... I'm assuming mid-engined from the pictures? I think someone's had one too many garlic sandwiches before coming up with it...
Yes, it's mid-engined.

I think the daihatsu Copen is a better executed car than this.
Two very different vehicles.

The Copen is a front-wheel-drive and has a maximum power of 86hp.

The PGO is rear-wheel-drive and has the 1.6 THP PSA/BMW with 184hp.

I never heard of it before, so thank your for posting. Has a sort of melted Porsche 356 look.......
You're welcome.

Yes, you're totally right.

In 2004, they have even been taken to court by Porsche because of that.

I think that PistonHeads could make an article about this car. Love it or hate it, it's something unique that most of the people have never heard of.

This vehicle costs about 10.000£ more than a MX-5 and has 184 hp and it's mid engined. I think that this car deserves a lot more success. I would love to drive one, but here in Portugal i think that there is none. frown

Are you serious? What's so wrong about a good replica with a current engine?

Yup, ha ha. Have I offended your pro French manufacturing thread?
The Cevennes is a replica of the Porsche 356, the Copen is FWD and has only 86hp, the PGO is mid-engined like the original and has 184hp, totally different layouts.

Hi OP

I did a double take walking past the PGO showroom which was in Neuilly iirc, I thought the Cevennes looked like a Chesil but with a few incongruous modern twists.

Not sure this helps your case but that was my take
Hi, thank you for your insight.

I've done a bit of reading on these and I really want one now. Mid engine, not too much power, decent chassis etc etc. Sounds like something ideal for escaping the Lake District in. What a shame they seem so rare in the UK. Even the looks are growing on me!
Indeed! What i like the most about these cars are the many personalization options.
