I recently purchased this Datsun locally for no other reason except that I liked the look of it biggrin

Now I have brought it home, I have no idea what model it is except for it being Datsun Cherry. Is there a separate model/version number? I literally cannot find this anywhere on the net.

I also probably paid too much for it.tongue out

I thought it was the N10 model but I couldn't find one with the round lights as mine. Possibly aftermarket or a facelift?

Excellent, i had one of them as my second car way back in 1985 biggrin £700£? rofl they saw you coming. Mechanically indestructable in my experience, good engine/gearbox combo.
Handles like a boat and the brakes don't do much to slow the car down but surprisingly I actually like it. The seats are incredibly comfy.
Did I get mugged off for the price? laugh I was thinking that on the drive home actually. Especially with all the wker signs everybody was giving me while overtaking me as I struggled to get up a hill.

Found some more information about it online. It has a genuine 22k from new with 2 previous owners. New clutch and new brakes. Already been offered a grand so hopefully it wasn't too bad of a price. smile

Blimey, can't complain much there.

Is that really 20k from new, not 120k? Surely not. I wonder if they were the factory brake pads being complained about at the 2007 test?
That's a good point actually. It could have gone round the clocklaugh Based on the MOT history, it's done 6k in around 10 years so I'm not entirely sure. For its age though, it surprisingly has not had an advisory in the most recent MOT even though it was off road for the best part of 5 years. I don't have any paperwork except the usual logbook and mots so I can only go on what I can see

I have absolutely no idea regarding the brakes. I know they have been replaced along with the clutch based on a previous owners post on a Datsun OC but apart from that I know nothing about it.

It has an air horn fitted along with a non standard gear Knob

Didnt realise it only had 20k on it, thats not bad then, but the wear on the drivers seat makes me think thats not right as old datsuns tend to wear better internally than externally hehe mine was just about 5 years old when i bought it and it needed new front wings even at that age, rust on a scale even Alfa Romeo of the time would be proud of biggrin
It does have some rust on the doors and some light surface rust on the bonnet but it has been treated underneath in the past so it's mint underneath. I will see how I get on with it. I may just tidy up the bottom of the doors. Also came with some fury dices hanging from the rear view mirror. biggrin

How many times have you switched the wipers on when indicating? wink
laugh Atleast 10 times on the way home. Also pulled out the cigarette lighter instead of the choke lever a few times while driving uphill.

It's because the clocks only go up to 100ksmile. So it could have gone right back round.
