Lowest depreciating big soft roader?
Discussion
Looking at getting a Chelsea Tractor for the 1.4mile school run (as you do ), but really don't like losing money in depreciation. X5/6, RRS, type thing.
Budget is less important than depreciation but I was thinking IRO £40-50k for something up to around 2yrs old. I'm conscious that you can get a new X5 for the price of a 1yr old one.
Any thoughts or ideas?

fk me sideways! The man makes a fair point...
Maybe I should have been more specific
I'm looking for something with manufacturers warranty.
I don't expect zero depreciation, I would just like to minimise it.
I'm open on petrol or diseaseal but would like to get 25+ mpg urban.
Definitely no 4 pot engines.
I'm leaning towards X5/6 but would a £40k+ Cayenne or RRS depreciate significantly less or more?

Why not buy a £35k Cayenne or RRS instead of a £40k? That's £5k of depreciation banked at the outset.
Not sure the maths will work like that! Both would be old model and more or less out of manufacturers warranty. Can't stand the old RRS tank. Might work with an X5 though.

Newest cars would be on an M plate (1995). PM me if you wish and I will be happy to point you in the right direction
Thanks, appreciate that. While I can see the attraction (and would have one in my fictional 10 car garage), I don't want something so old...the MILFs would sneer at me on the school run CSK423 said:
Assume you pushed the budget by £20k to get into the GTS. I'm in a similar position and been looking at SUVs for 45-50k.
The macan GTS seems to be around £60k though, I found the turbo version more readily available and cheaper by circa £10k.
Yes! we paid less than £60. It was only 3 months old with 1500 miles so would have been rude not to. The macan GTS seems to be around £60k though, I found the turbo version more readily available and cheaper by circa £10k.
