Got back last night from a trip in the Fiat, nearly 3000 miles in 13 days, started in Belgium, through Luxembourg to Germany, through Austria to Italy and the home through Monte Blanco tunnel through France .

I'll get the excuses out the way first.
Due to battery life and technical issues this thread could take a while to complete.
So bare with me.
Many many pics to come.
The road trip plan started by wanting to revisit the Mille Miglia for a third time.
All the other events were found to build it up into a worthwhile near 2 week trip.
Full itinerary includes.
World rally cross.
Belgian rally cross.
Mille Milgia.
Moto GP
And 9 car,bike related museums.
Sunday 15th.....Mettet Belgium.

These were the clowns of the crowd.
Bloke on the right ,to celebrate would wave his chainsaw, without saw in the air and rev it up.
Bloke in the green top was wearing a huge curly wig,it fell off later and waved what looked like a real pick axe in the air.

This lovely Swedish girl won the Touring car category, was too young to spray the champagne.

Magda Andersson is the name of the young Swedish lady who was victorious in the Touring car class.

Anyway.

When I walked into the spectator area on Sunday turned out I stood next to 3 English men.
I have a chat with them and end up standing with them all day.

They even let me use a spare foldaway thing to stand on for better viewing.
One of them found out that the following day was a Belgian bank holiday and that the domestic championship was running there.

So I stayed on for another day and also the ticket I'd bought for Sunday got me in on Monday too.
Bonus.

I was interested to see how the SAAB got on as I have history with the marque but it broke on the start line, did 1 slow lap and wasn't seen again.

Not the most obvious choice of rally cross car,an E34 5 series.

Plenty of 3 series running there though.

Volvo was popular too.

Some of the world teams stayed on to contest the Supercar class, bit of extra test, practice.
Including Ekstrom who won on Sunday.

This is hard work posting 1 or 2 at a time.

I'm going to finish it ,even if it kills me.

These older cars did display laps during lunch.
The Chevette managed to crash too.

This Escort and a Volvo I don't have a pic of were clearly the 2 fastest in the Supernational category.
Unfortunately the Volvo broke in the semi final gifting the win to the Escort ?
Nope,he half spun in the "joker lap"section in the final and the win went to an old Volvo 262.

This was engineered to have either front or rear engine.
Not both BTW.
That seems quite odd.

I haven't given up yet.

There's enough space stuff to keep an enthusiast happy for a day.
I'm not into that but looked around it.

Claimed to be the only one of these still running.
There wasn't that many anyway.

Tip for anyone wanting to visit Speyer museum.

Don't park in the official car park, you need a special card to enter anyway and you can park for free just up the road by the river or in the swimming pool car park, which is what I did.

Off to Sinsheim next and all this to come.

Lamborghinis

More Lamborghinis.

Ferraris.

Mille Miglia.

Piaggios.

Alfas.

And more.
