Inspecting a Used Car.
Discussion
Good Morning All!
So Im currently looking to buy a E46 M3 its a bit of mine field... Anyway If I went to view a private car for sale do you think it would be cheeky to ask to put the car on 4 axle stands so I could get underneath to give the car a good look over. Also was thinking about buying the BMW diagnostic software to check for any fault codes, vanos faults etc.
Do you think Im being unreasonable? Not sure what someone going to think If I turn up to buy a car with 4 axle stands, jack, laptop, ruler, clipboard and spread sheet etc etc. Just really don't want to buy a pup. Of course I would ask before I turn up.
If anyone know of a good M3 for sale would love to know. Really after a below 100k blue, black, gray on 18" wheels no sun roof and a dark interior.

hummm decisive a bit like I thought it might be. From the research I've done you need to use laptop to read for any faults Im more worried about vanos than anything else. Just to add my job is a race mechanic I've build cars that have won at lemans. (sorry don't mean to blow my own trumpet.) so more than capable of jacking up a car. We will see how I get on.
