Stylish Estate ( or BIG booted hatchback ) for under £4500

Looking for an estate between £3000 and £4500 which is stylish and reliable.

As mileage under 6k a year not too worried about MPG but needs to be an automatic and not too slow. Not bothered about petrol or diesel

I would consider a hatchback if not was possible to get a BIG dog in easily..!


Shortlist so far is VW Passat, A4 Avant, Subaru Outback 2.5..Maybe Golf or focus

Mazda 6 nice but my dog wouldnt fit in a sloping hatchback like that(hes 6ft when he stands up)

Bmw - nice cars but from what i understand terrible in the winter

Merc - think i would get a rust bucket at this price

Octavia - possible as the rs is the best one maybe thrashed

Sorry for not mentioning this but it will be my wife's main car and she does not like BIG estates ie Volvo, legnum...if it was an estate we would be looking at a stylish small to medium estate
