2017MY Range Rover updates

V6 petrol at one end of the range and SVAutobiography Dynamic at the other for the Range Rover facelift

Believe it or not, the current L405 Range Rover has been around for more than three years now; the earliest cars are in fact now available for less than £50K. So for the 2017 model year, a range of updates more significant than usual have been introduced.

Following last year's SVAutobiography, there's now an SVAutobiography Dynamic, promised to deliver the "ultimate combination of performance and Range Rover luxury". So while it still uses the same 550hp supercharged V8 as the SVAutobiography, the Dynamic features a lower ride height (by 8mm), revised knuckles, links, springs and dampers, the Adaptive Dynamics technology seen elsewhere in the JLR range and the Dynamic Response anti-roll system. It gets Brembo brakes too, identified by red calipers.

Distinguishing the Dynamic are Graphite Atlas accents outside, wheel designs unique to the model and diamond quilted leather seats inside. On sale in the autumn, it will cost £132,800.

Elsewhere in the range, the supercharged petrol V6 seen in the F-Type is also now offered. Prices aren't yet confirmed but it offers 340hp, 332lb ft, 7.1 seconds to 60mph and 248g/km. It's likely to be a niche seller then, but it's there if you fancy.

Across the models, InControl Touch Pro has now been introduced to the Range Rover, as well as the Low Traction Launch assist first seen in the F-Pace. Advanced Tow Assist is also available, capable of automatically steering the vehicle and whatever you're towing using the Terrain Response selector. When you're going forwards again, the usual range of assists (blind spot, queue, lane keep) are there to keep you on the straight and narrow.

Prices start at £76,350 for the updated Range Rover in 3.0 TDV6 Vogue spec, a modest increase over the £75,850 currently asked. Will this latest raft of tweaks keep it towards the top of the luxury 4x4 class?

it pains me I am too poor to afford one of these. £50k no longer gets you a good full sized 4x4 with things like the Q5 and Macan taking that price point and a full size SUV being closer to 60k now.

I wonder though do RR and Cayennes etc really start at there stated prices or are there deals to be done anyone know?

Porsche don't do discounts, becuase they don't need to - I never been in a position to test this my self but I've heard this from a number of sources and Porsche aren't the most profitable car company for nothing (& isn't the Cayenne their most profitable model too)
I'm sure I read somewhere recently that deals were to be had on Cayennes as there's a new model due at the end of the year / early next year.

Porsche Wolverhampton which is my local had literally about 30 Cayennes when they opened, all black 'S' models, and a few weeks later they were all gone.
Was a few years back now but I went to Hatfield Porsche Center for an open evening and they had a 996GTS convertible on display it was 56k and I recall it was bout 10 or 15k below list price. It was effectivly a demo car etc.

So while you might not be able to buy your chosen spec 911 at a discount they do have some that go for less. But as the Cayenne is their cash cow I wondered if they did deals on it. Sounds like from other poster that they do but just dont shout about it
