So, this car has been parked down the road for over a week, don't think it belongs to a neighbour. Any ideas? seems to be properly wired up for something or other.

Don't care if it's recording anything, it's not peeping through my bedroom window. Even if it was , quite happy to share my powerfully built directors frame with them. wink

Just curious what it may be, something " official" ? Gotta be for something other than peeping.

Law enforcement in the UK don't use private/personal plates. Some Walt character I suspect.
Didn't think it was BiB, perhaps something council related? There are issues with traffic down a very small lane, and people parking at the end of the lane where it joins the main road . Possibly some sort of traffic monitoring? But the camera isn't really pointing at the problem junction . There's another cam pointing right at the hedge.

That's an ANPR set up. Awfully expensive for for a Walter Mittty type I'd have thought?
Not to mention the legalities.
The lane is an exit for a local kiddies petting zoo type thing, gets a fair bit of traffic in the summer. Could it just be a road fund licence check up?

Its probably owned by a company who do the anpr and tax checks for the DVLA, it'll probably drive round spotting cars then call the clamping van in, the owner might have left it there whilst on holiday, or not, who knows, I'm surprised the camera's having been nicked by now if its been there a while.
Are the cameras worth decent money? If so, I'll nick them! It's deserted at night round here, only one neighbour and he's on holiday! wink

Im joking of course.

Could well be, I'm surprised by the vehicle it's attached to though?!
Does seem strange, shagged out old Audi, full of "high tech" kit. And the private plate is odd too.

A shiny new fiesta or similar cheap car would make sense if it was a "commercial" vehicle.

They drive along and create a database of cars on the public road with no tax or insurance which is then used to send our fines and notifications. Unusual car for the job but it could easily be contracted out to a private firm. s Traffic Technology by the looks of that plate!

Some do the same for parking infringements too.
Some down the road neighbours don't have drives and do abandon cars at the junction with the main road, which makes the entrance a bit dodgy, and blocks the exit for coaches full of kids from the wildlife park/petting zoo thing.

Wonder if it's related, wish it were, cos it's a ball ache where they park for me, (I'm not gonna be "that guy" and complain though, it's only a minor irritation.)

Cameras aren't really pointed at the exit though.

They could get all the plates of cars going down the road though.

Parking enforcement.

Probably belongs to these people ... from the number plate.

http://www.ctt.co.uk/

who do this

Scanning number plates with either a fixed or mobile ANPR solution, RingGo’s Advanced Digital Parking alerts patrolling officers to vehicles that need checking for payment. The improvement in speed and efficiency from this, as opposed to checking every windscreen for a ticket, is substantial.

I think I may report it as an abandoned car to the BiB if it ain't gone next week. It's a single track track with 2 way traffic and the less cars blocking it up the better.

Get naked, put a mask on and strap a pair of number plates to your back and chest and keep running past it.
Haha, funnily enough I did think about doing that today, not naked, but I could get a bunch of made up plates "ba11 bags" "be11 3nd" etc. Etc. And walk past with them attached to my arse! smile

In all seriousness, I'm really not bothered by its presence, or ANPR checking for traffic flow or tax/insurance Dodgers, really was just curious about what the hell it is! smile
