Ford mondeo v Honda Civic

Have a 6 speed lynx ford mondeo tdci titanium 95k mileage diesel and endless problems with faults. Also tyres expemsive and wear out on the front every 12k ish and I don't drive hard. Looking to get shot and trying to find better alternatives with cheaper running and comfortable on the motoway. Had Honda civic suggested 2.2 deisel as a good option. Tried one at 70k selling for 4.5k. Looking for better reliability and running costs. Driving wise my key concern is motorway comfort and running costs as I do 25k.miles a year ish. Not much elese bothers me. Any views appreciated....

Thanks guys. May try the civic and see then. Find the mondeo eats tyres..a common issue it seems. Get about 12 k out of fronts on Michelin primacy and 18 k ish on last rears. Twice yearly changes get expensive at 100 a corner

Maybe I should grit my teeth and hopefully having gone through a few issues it will be better for a time....aside from approaching the 100k belts change of course
