Why I chose it: "I remember first reading about these in my early teens and thinking 'I need one of these one day'! For me it's the ultimate track day/weekend driver with the perfect combination of performance, looks and noise. I think I've seen two in the flesh on the roads which makes me want one even more!"

Why I chose it: "I decided to bend the rules and go for two rear-wheel drive choices. Another rare one to see on the road but another epic driver's car. It was between this and the E46 M3 (which I am researching now to buy for real) but figured with £100K to push the boat out, why not?"

Why I chose it: "My four-wheel drive choice isn't an SUV. It's a practical car for the family bbut with plenty of performance. I know everyone picks these but after having a go in one the other day I can see why - what a weapon! I love the standard looks and the wingback seats but would have the silver steering wheel recovered in Alcantara with my remaining £1,306." [Sadly Alex's chosen RS4 has sold, but there are plenty more on offer here - MB]

Why I chose it: "My first car was the MK2 Golf Driver and I absolutely loved it. I wheelspun it everywhere in typical 17year-old fashion but looking back I wish I kept it. It was low mileage and had the GTI kit on it plus the GTI interior. So I'm using the FWD budget to relive my dream, this time the proper 16v GTI."
