I got thinking whilst looking at old pics of my vx220 particularly the way the steering felt. I was thinking how I'd love every car i own to have that turn in.

What's the one feature/character trait you would take through to every car if you could, it can be anything.

Current or previous cars, doesn't matter if it flows or gets boring (not part of this criteria)

Mine would be the bootlid on the csl. Or the induction noise.

Or perhaps the "pooh to blanket" feel my old Renault 5 gt turbo gave me.

What's yours?

Similar to yours, i'd vote forwards the steering and general chassis feel of my Evora. Feels lovely hooking up fast direction changes and carrying such speed through corners on track.
Do they use a similar tub? Evora/Exige/elise/vx? Great things :-)

Handling balance and noise of my E92 M3.
Handling I agree with, I drove one in 2008, did a few laps of the ring. Beautifully predictable on the limit.

Its very interesting and surprising to see many responses focusing on mod-cons such as air con etc. Id have thought there'd be more styling and character references.

Guess we PHers tend to base our purchases upon the driving pleasure so we purchase cars accordingly.

I've read this thread as being about the little extras that wouldn't stop you from buying a specific car but really do make life a bit easier if fitted.

I should also point out that having had two cars with reversing cameras how much I'd love them on every car!
Indeed, I was surprised thats all, being PH id assumed peoples would automatically select noise, handling and styling traits but i guess making driving more pleasurable is equally as important.

The thread is about anything really, nice to haves and essentials you've experienced and would take forward to your next car.

Fully keyless: I couldn't go back to fishing in my pocket for a bloody key nowadays.

Adaptive cruise: Pop it on in traffic and let the car do the stop/start crawling crap. Also brillo for average speed cameras, especially in heavy traffic.
Adaptive Cruise, now theres a feature! I used a friends RR sport which had it, fantastic. smile

& fuel cutoff at 9200 IIRC - like a brake being applied. TBH while it was fun, I'm now driving an Alfa 3.2V6 which would probably steer me in engine choice for the next car.
I have a real thing for the GTV 3.0 smile Thankfully they haven't run away in price. creeping up slowly though frown

Mine is a GT - had a GTV3.0 V6 before - so, in the spirit of the thread title I'm at least taking the Busso V6 forward between cars.
It is a glorious engine. Is it better than the BMW straight 6???? Now theres a question.

I'm torn between the weight or the 12krpm limit of my Indy.

That or the simple roof of a ND MX-5, very quick and easy to put up and down, far more reliable and lighter than any electric hood.
12k!!! What's in it?
