This is featured today in Autocar. Positive, if bland, report. Anyone know any more about Ka, seen? driven? Incidentally I have little interest in soft-feel dashboads, dampened cup holders or most " infotainment". I like cars, though.

Oh c'mon it's boring as hell!
I'm not in great disagreement, but what isn't boring in the city car segment?
Fiat 500 and another humdrum driver but cute looker , the Vauxhall Adam.

Hmm. I'm sure it's all well and good, but think it should perhaps have not used the KA name. This or a Dacia Sandero?
Reports elsewhere say that it costs a hell of lot of money to get a new model name into buyers' minds. So Ford Europe had to decide between that, and reusing an established name. It's much bigger than previous Kas, and not really aimed at the same kind of buyer, so it's not really a Ka at all. But are you really going to spend squillions getting this car's name known? So they stuck with Ka and added a plus, when it's really more of a Fiesta minus.

I think it will sell well, if it's basically as good as recent Fiestas, as initial reviews suggest. "Funky" designs are overrated, IMO. The Mk 2 Ka was quite stylish but didn't sell. If memory serves, the radical Mk I wasn't a runaway seller either. The motoring press like radical designs (bored from reviewing cars day in, day out?), and tend to underestimate how conservative the market can be.

Contrary to general perception the original Ka was initially a very poor seller, though the motoring press raved about it. The public like the IDEA of a radical design but are slow to buy the resulting car. As the OP who has now read all the posts, I think it will sell well. With Dacia I think there is an element of inverted snobbery or is it common sense? This comment is off at a tangent to the Ka, but some buyers actually like off roadrers and their imitation to look a bit utilitarian ,even faded.

rofl

Its fecking awful....
yes
It's not at all awful, it's bland and generic. That is why it will sell in this price range.
