Lorries face London ban

Lorries face London ban 'to protect cyclists'
Blessed be the cyclists.
No doubt there will be lots more moaning from the truck lobby. Is anything to be done to further enhance/help the drivers or their working conditions?

ban lorries and oil burning cars
And petrol cars.And motorbikes.
And roads, people, animals, buildings, places.
Just turn London into a giant void.
Then fill that void with human waste.
Then you're back where you started.
Come to London! Stopping at Rejection, Disappointment, Backstabbing Central and Shattered Dreams Parkway.

And lots of moaning from Joe Public when there's no food on the supermarket shelves. What annoys me is that the onus is always on the transport industry to make lorries "safer" and not on educating cyclists to stop putting themselves in dangerous situations.TheInternet said:

From the figures in that article, they kill more pedestrians than they do cyclists.Blessed be the cyclists.

so nothing to do with giving cycling a chance to become more popular like in the vastly more sophisticated, beautiful and healthier European cities?TheInternet said:

but look at the visibility in that thing.. awesome! AND two drivers.
looks like the 80's win again
Wait until the price of the produce in the supermarkets costs more because they're either delivering late at night so having to pay the drivers more or they'll have to use more vans, but of course banning lorries makes perfect sense rather than educate cyclists!!!
Although I will say deaths have dropped significantly this year as cyclists have worked out they're not beyond reproach & it hurts when they taste tarmac whilst most drivers lookout for cyclists

Those bin wagon type cabs wouldn't make it down the quarry access road, let alone the actual quarry, Maybe Mr Kahn wants London's booming construction sector to grind to a halt? Edited by SystemParanoia on Friday 30th September 11:58
when will people realise you can make these trucks as safe as possible, but if those around (cyclists) don't know how to conduct themselves, it's all pointless
