0-62mph 2.9 seconds
0-125mph 10.2 seconds
0-100mph 6.1 seconds

Clearly exceptionally quick and only 450bhp.

This is a car which came out in first incarnation 10 YEARS before the McLaren F1 and destroyed it in any meaningful acceleration time.

Why does the T16 straios etc all get so much more glory than what is the real daddy? is it purely due to the fact it is this car which sadly ended GroupB

I've been watching these cars on current hill climbs on YouTube and even now 30 years on frankly hardly anything gets close. That said the Audi uR S4 launches like a lunatic

What a machine.

Has anyone seen one of these in the flesh or better still had experience inside the car driven properly?

I guess 505bhp/tonne helps.

Was the quoted power truthful or was this making a heap load more power ?

I'm glad you put the video up because until that point I thought you had a fast dog with a strange name.
This and psycho nutter rally car optimised for traction with 4wd and geared for a modest top speed gets off line quicker than a McLaren F1 shocker

Can I have a pint of whatever youre drinking please
Unless its Dubonnet and red
Top speed 185mph could have been a lot more but on forest routes not needed.

I cant imagine many group B cars being geared to 185mph even if possible. Seems a bit much top end.
http://www.automobile-catalog.com/auta_details1.php
This has he gearing for each of he 5 gears 1st nearly does 60mph 5th maxes out at 185mph apparently.

Also reading furthing into this it actually produced 500++bhp at 8,400rpm which means around the 600bhp/tonne territory. That is a chunk more than 2x F10 M5 Competiton pack...and that car is a lunatic so I'm not sure how you describe a S4 in 2nd gear 7,500 rpm wide open throttle smile

The only speed I can find on that link is a theoretical top speed of161. The times suggest in reality it's closer to 151.
151mph for a 890kg can (can be as low as 820kg) -and well over 500bhp. An e60 M5 with x2the weight derestrocted does 207mph.
A Fiat Coupe 220bhp will do 145mph and that is 1,200kg ish
Heck this weeks shed of he week my old Car also acupra 1.8T 180bjp did 140mph

My E90 330d 231bhp did 160mph in France according to the sat nav GPS. My old C5 RS6 I bottled it at 170mph that had a lot left. (Which has 50+bhp does and well over double the weight)

They do 0-100mph in 4.7 seconds...so at least 100!
4.7 ....

Is that Top Group C Le Mans cars from the late80/90's?

Does it not say 'theoretical'.
It weights fk all has all the power needed to drive an E60 M5 to 307mph.

A modern F1 car does 0-124mph in 4.4 if we are going to quote random race cars.
Sorry a few drinks in me but I like Group B and personally I adore the Group C LeMans cars (I've watched them race never seen live F1)

Great.

It does 185 then.

Despite being the shape of a housebrick.

How come no one has ever made a 307 mph E60 M5. Surely a cheap way to break all records for a road car.
Lol typo it's 205mph derestrocted E60 M5's.

Weight is almost irrelevant to top speed. Weight effects acceleration. Aerodynamics and power (assuming the car has the gearing) are what what determine top speeds.

And that's the thing it has he power in spades.

To say it can only do 151mph with 500++ bhp yet a Leon Cupra 1.8T shed of he week 180bjp does 140mph civic type R EP3 does 145mph with 197bhp.

This is the key.

Essentially your saying based upon its gearing it can only pull max revs in 1st 2ns. And 3rd the last two gears it doesn't have the power to rev out?

Gear ratios.
I posted up the gear ratios in a link previously hence the 185mph top speed - 151mph would mean not being able to hit max revs in 4th gear and clearly not in 5th also which is bizarre and not correct.
