Just a fun Saturday thread if you're chilling out at home.

What's your average speed according to your trip computer?

Mine's 17mph over the last month! Might be because I live in SW London. My average MPG is about 14mpg with a 3 litre 4x4.

Mostly city driving with occasional motorway.

X5 3.0sd - 21.4mpg, average speed 19.8mph. Claimed 34.4mpg combined.
I get the feeling that if I had your car, I'd be doing similar MPGs. Mine's a petrol 3 litre so hitting around 14mpg. Wouldn't mind if it were a sports car with a big V8.

Mine's around 22-25mph per tank, but as I use my car less and less for "daily" driving that creeps up! laugh
I'm not sure how the per tank thing works. Please explain? smile

I think I need to move. hehe

Or buy a more sporty car with a bigger engine and enjoy the journey.

I reset my trip every tank.
My average speed per tank of fuel is about that smile
Ah, yes, I ought to do that. I don't expect to see much difference, mind.

Indeed, It was the reason i traded in my Civic Type R for the Megane 1.6i Coupé 4 years ago frown I was barely breaking 20mpg on the same trip in that lol
Ah, probably makes sense. If I did your journey, I'd be on about 10mpg.

overall it seems that <18mph means <30mpg and >=18mph means >=30mpg.
I can't remember the last time I saw anywhere close to 30mpg.

Same engine in the E39 did about 17mpg when it was retired to city use.

Don't think anyone would mind a V8 sports car, have been eyeing up the Audi S5 4.2 driving
I wouldn't mind a V8 coupe doing 15mpg. smile

28mph over about 150 miles @ 16.2mpg - I reset the computer every time I refill the tank. This is on a C63 wagon. Mix of 40mph roads and emptyish motorways.
Was gonna say that's a pretty fast speed for an awful mpg!

some massive numpty doing 27 mph, and who still needs to touch the brakes on every corner, or every time a car comes the otherway.......
What the hell is that about? I've followed similar people and have followed them for a mile without needing to touch the brake pedal at all while they'll have braked about 30 times.
