If so why?

Which one do you have?

Do you think its a good deterant?

I have a stoplock pro which the bulkhead/lock fills most of the bottom right segment of my steering wheel as i put it on with the bar pointing up rather than down.

People tell me thiefs will just cut the wheel, im not saying its not possible but surely it will be tricky as the bit you could actually cut is very close to the centre of the wheel, if it was on the other way round then they probably could quite easily.

Big silver disklok for me.
Me too, have you seen the stoplock pro, if so do you think it will be a good detterant as its a lot easier to use than a disklok, if i place the bulkhead in the small right section of the wheel?

Does anyone think this could take a bit of beating as its hard to cut the wheel given the limited space? Click on it to zoom it its clearer

I can't see why it'd be difficult to cut the wheel either side of the lock with an angle grinder?

I think the point of these things is not that it makes it particularly hard to steal your car, but that it makes it slightly harder to steal your car than someone else's.
Do thiefs walk around with angle grinders and get them out on peoples drives etc? Not saying they wouldent if it was parked down an alley but surely to use one of them outside your house is unlikely?

Vaguely thinking of a Fiesta ST. Am I better going for an ST1 which I believe is the only model with a conventional ignition key and therefore harder to pinch?

My only prerequisites are DAB and AC which I believe to be standard on the base model anyway.
I think the st1 is fine yes as long as its not specced with push button start or keyless entry
