What car have you recently driven that has surprised you and turned out better than expected.

I recently borrowed a basic spec VW Up and really quite enjoyed it. Loved the simplicity and the fact you could really work the engine without going too fast. Reminded me of my first car, a 4 speed Peugeot 106.

Interesting to read the Jazz comments. My wife has one, 2007 1.4. It's a strange engine, lots of torque low down and then nothing high up. The steering feel is terrible as it's electric but the suspension set up is very good and it all feels very solid and like it will go on forever. I quite like it but the seats give me terrible back ache.
I'd like to try the next shape to see if the steering is better.

Im actually now considering buying a vw up but am slightly worried I will quickly get bored of it. Can I ask if the 2 Skoda Citigo drivers have the 60 or 75 bhp motors?

I just got back from holiday where I rented a Dacia Sandero and then a Toyota Ago.
The Dacia was horrible. Dull to drive, crap steering, horrible interior. The only positives were a decent boot and good mpg.
The Toyota Aygo was brilliant. Great little engine that loved to rev and actual felt quite quick. Good steering, gearbox and brakes. It all felt very light and made you want to drive it hard. I really was surprised how good it was.
