Hi I'll be in my second year of university next year and thinking of bringing my car.

What do I do about my insurance in terms of what address to put?

I obviously have breaks and stuff so the car comes home especially between may and September.

Do I have to change my address every time I come home, put my uni address down as my address, or keep my home address. Hypothetically surely it's irrelevant at this point what address as I put as if in the unlikely event anything to my car happened, my address would still be my home address (non uni) as that is my registered postal address.

Thanks

My daughter had a car in her final year. IrRc they wanted to know both addresses, and put an estimate of 50% at each address, plus because the address was within walking distance of college, told her she didn't need commuting.
If she'd put down our address only, she'd have needed commuting.
No option to put two addresses

Are you in halls or private rent?
If private rent are you keeping the space whilst you are not tgere May-September i.e paying rent those months too?
If you get a summer/part time job will go home all of summer or just for a few weeks/days?

If you spend more time at the student place thats your main residence.

See the current news about Angela Rayner if your confused.
It's literally 50/50
