Is It A Bird? Is It A Plane?

No, it's Ken Block's Impreza again

We’ve got a bit of a soft spot for Ken Block. As co-founder of DC Shoes and being an all-round extreme sports junkie, he’s made a fair amount of money to spend on pushing the envelope just that little bit further.

When it comes to four wheels, he’s developed a bit of a thing for rallying. However, not content with just competing in the North American series, he’s also one for seeing just how far he can fly his Impreza.

First up, he executed a 171-foot jump at a dirt course in America towards the tail end of last year. If you haven’t seen the video, check it out here.

Now he’s gone one better by flying out to New Zealand – health and safety nannies wouldn’t allow the stunt to go ahead in the US – joining up with the DC snowboard team and executing a 70-foot jump in the snow.

As only an adrenalin-fuelled American can, Block said “All in all I’m really stoked how well it went. In all the experiences I’ve ever had, it truly was one of the most fun things I’ve ever done.”

There’s no word of what he broke on his Scoob this time, but given that the only things that broke on the dirt jump were the windscreen and a damper, we imagine that the boys at Vermont Sports Car can breathe a sigh of relief this time. Until he comes up with his next idea that is.

I'm guessing the car has a very heavily moddifed drivers seat then?

I've sat in a Scooby of that vintage and there is no way a standard seat would comfortably hold a pair of bollox the same size as the ones that bloke obviously has hehe

top marks to him!
yes

Especially as the standard Imprezza Turbo drivers seat actually has a compensation cushion for lack of bolloxs...
