Some are saying the Fiat Panda 100bhp. They're good.
But I prefer the Daihatsu Charade GTI i had back in 1987.
Or can 100 bhp NEVER be enough?

Anyway, I seem to remember that 85 BHP was enough to turn the 715 kg Citroen AX GT into a proper hoot back in the day. 0-60 in 9 seconds and 112 mph didnt seem like a great deal these days, but you try doing that speed on a wheeled kit-kat wrapper and tell me it isnt fun?
I had an AX GT, a red little flyer.
Not bad at all.

The little 3-cylinder Daihatsu was amazing, for it's time.
4 valves per cylinder, DOHC, electronic fuel injection, turbocharged.
biggrin

They later went on to do a 100 BHP AX GTI, different engine, but I think, heavier, so no faster.
On the AX forum i am still a member of, there is a 300 bhp AX!
eek

I suppose my current 1969 Honda S800 Coupe is up there, but alas, has only 70 bhp.

The fastest 100 bhp i have had was a Ducati 748R.
'Only' 100 bhp at the rear wheel, but similar performance to a Ferrari F430.
(Other than all-out top speed).

yikes What engine is it running?
It is a late-80s AX with a Saxo VTS 1.6 engine.
Lightened and balanced and running a turbocharger with 1.2 bar.
All the other mods you'd expect, like cold air intake, free-flow exhaust, etc.

eek 400bhp per tonne.
Sounds a lot, (and is), until you realise that £9,000 will get you (brand new) over 1,000 bhp per tonne!

It's not standard, but on the Bond Bug owners site there is a 97 bhp Bug.
That must go well, if scary on corners.
(Up from 29 bhp standard).

sometimes the fun is in the car not the speeds it can reach..my most fun cars were my 2 1200cc beetles, standard wi 34hp they always put a smile on my face....
Yes, true, my Bond Bugs were both cool with, what, 29 and 34 bhp!
