Free 48 hour test drive in a Laguna - delivered to your door
Discussion
Renault is offering a free 48 hour test drive. Book at http://www.renault24td.co.uk/?WT.mc_id=LAGAVI16 and Avis call you to arrange delivery and collection. No sales calls from Renault at all! Mine arrived on Thursday morning and will be picked up on Monday pm, result.
Skoda is doing a 48 hour test drive (Roomster)as is Jeep with the Grand Cherokee, but these involve booking with the dealer and sales pressure. Mindy you Francesca at the Jeep dealer sounds a honey so I might be taking her up on her offer.
The 'guna is rather better than I thought it would be to be honest. Depreciation free motoring at its best.

Mines parked outside right now!The last guy booked his and nothing turned up.
A dealer is not involved, the car comes straight from Avis who get paid by Renault. You are not ripping anyone off by taking this offer. When Avis called me for my credit card details (in case the car was short of fuel) they also asked for my driving licence number. There was NO mention of points, I would think that the rental was the same for any Avis contract. In the box for charges it said N/A.
Oh and if you get it sideways enough the dash display goes all orange and comes up with a skiddy car warning symbol, as I discovered over a humpback bridge with all 4 wheels in the air. It went back safe and sound. Just remember that there is a large excess, £600 I think.
I got the diesel, I think its all Avis have.

So in essence. A rubbish car with a stupid key.
These Renault keys are horrific. At least the 'guna key has a hole you can put a keyring through. My espace one has a hole on the end you put in the ignition slot so there is no way of putting it on your keyring unless you use one of these My wife put it in her back pocket in Perth and decided to go down a slide. On returning to the cottage we were holidaying in she found it had gone. I was looking at a 1200 mile round trip to get the replacement in a hire car! We fluked a meeting with the person who found it thank god. I now stick the spare somewhere on the car in case of emergencies. And you can never find the bugger as its flat. And never put it on the roof of the car whilst loading, very difficult to see end on!

It's mildly peeving really, I mean the Mondeo was very nice but the point in this weekend was to spend it getting to know the new Laguna.
I suspected that my opinion of the car would have been a lot different had I been supplied with a 2.0 DCi which had its oil level checked BEFORE it's sent out..
You might want to send this one to the media, Top Gear perhaps. Can see Clarkson laughing over this one.I suspected that my opinion of the car would have been a lot different had I been supplied with a 2.0 DCi which had its oil level checked BEFORE it's sent out..
Mine is here. Moon roof thingy, 1.6 petrol. Not much else to say just done 150 miles in it and seems ok, ride reminds me of my Defender 90 bit choppy to say the least, and quite hard seats. Although I had an Espace IV I couldn't for the life of me remember how to change the radio to MW, but I was driving it in the dark for the first time. I think the radio on this car is dangerous its so difficult to use. Lights very good indeed, 5 miles down the A1 I realised it had 6 gears! The speedo has a circle of lights around it which come on when you use the cruise.
Mine had 666 miles and a bit of a dent in the front. It goes over speedbumps nicely at speed.
I actually think my Citroen ZX non turbo diesel is only marginally slower, but as a freebie thumbs up. And they told me this morning that they can't collect until Wednesday.
