Hi Guys,

I've spent some time over the last couple of years looking for a car lift that will be usable in my double garage and stow away neatly when not in use. I have finally found it thanks to an article in the new products section in BMWCar!

Check out http://www.ezcarlift.com and for better pictures and a good write-up take a look at:
http://mysite.verizon.net/vze7aq8e/continued/id25.html

(also very nice pictures of a well cared for E28!)

I have measured up my E31 840Ci, E36 M3 Evo Saloon and E46 330Ci and I will be able to jack all 3 with just 1 set of cross bars (62").

Using the optional dollys, I should also be able to spin the car around so that the length of it runs the width of my double garage which will give me a lot more room for working comfortably around it. I'm sure there are others who would have the same requirements as me.

Jacking cars up onto axle stands is a fiddly process, and I do it so often that it's bound to go wrong one day! That could be painful/expensive, so for me I think this lift would be well worth the money.

Would anyone be interested in a Group Buy to reduce the shipping costs as these have to come from California? They currently have a special on so the price is $1795 instead of the normal $1995 so we should get in quick!

There is also a possibility (don't hold your breath!) that I may be able to get some space in a friend's container which could work out very cheap!

Let me know by PM or reply post if you're interested and we can go from there.

Thanks!

Hi Guys,

You're right, it is very pricey, but I haven't seen anything else that is so well designed. The Levo-Artis system is a good price, but certainly doesn't do what I require. It seems extremely fiddly to lift the car (having to drive onto ramps, then jack 2 jacks at the same time and once you've got it up there you still can't take the wheels off unless you lift it even further! It doesn't appear to lift the car very high, the access underneath with a creeper would be very limited, and it does not allow you to move the car once it's lifted, for me that is a very cool feature of the EZCarLift as I will be able to spin the car around so that it's length runs the width of my double garage.

The "Garage Scissor Lift SLX1000" is your standard mid-rise scissor lift set up. The problem with this set up is again access! Take a look at the lift in it's up position.... how easy do you think it would be to wheel around under there with a creeper? The fact that the EZCarLift only has 4 legs, that take up much the same room as axle stands is a HUGE advantage!

Sorry, the price I quoted of $1795 was a typo, you're right it is currently $1745.

eltax91, you hit the nail squarely on the head! The problem is space! I've only got a standard sized double garage but spend a lot of time in it working on my cars. Buying a lift like the EZCarLift is expensive, but a whole lot cheaper than renting a bigger garage somewhere, or buying a house with more garage space!

2, 4 or even single post lifts are wonderful but take up a lot of space and/or have to be bolted to the floor. Anyway, my garage doesn't have the necessary height to make full use of a full-height post lift.

Some of the other car lifts on the market claim they are portable, but you can't get much better than this:
