Welder in surrey ? Wondering if a 2 sec job could be done...

On one of my coilovers, I was attempting to turn the dial in order to see if it was still working properly, was really stiff, so I used an allen key to help undo it... bugger, the dial and about 1cm of the shaft broke off.
Just wondering if this is possible to somehow weld back onto the remaining shaft ?
Doesn't have to be a pretty job, just needs to work !

Forgetting if anyone locally can do this job, do you think it's even possible ?
Just wondering if it's slightly dangerous as the canister that contains the gas (I presume gas) is at the other end of that shaft.

Don't think I've said shaft soo many times in a post before
