however, after much searching, it seems that they are a right bugger to find good threads/articles about.


So, the point being to this thread, has anyone got any good stories/articles/videos or anything else to share regarding the wonderful things that are sleepers!?

I remember seeing iirc a passat (diesel?) with something outrageous like 440 brake whilst looking almost completely standard, that was the sort of thing I was after. Something that looks utterly boring and generic, but would blow your head off acceleration wise/make the person in the corsa trying to race you off the lights rather embarrassed.

Ahhhh this is where things get interesting, I would say that your average m5/rs4/6/t5 or whatever is not a proper sleeper/q car, any petrolhead will be able to identify these cars from a mile away, we all know what an m5/rs6/t5 is capable of, this then detracts somewhat from the whole shock and awe aspect of a truely mundane generic looking car going faster than believed possible that I really like. I would hardly call an AMG merc or whatever, with its big rims, AMG badges galore, massive drilled discs a subtle car.

The whole appeal of a sleeper/Q car to me, is that there are utterly no hints on the exterior of the car that tell of its real performance.

But that's just my opinion, feel free to dis-agree.

Rubbish. There have been plenty of threads on sleepers here on PH, never mind any other site.

Most of the articles on here seem to be about people arguing as to whether an m5 is a sleeper or not. I've already been through that long "suprised by a sleeper/qcar" thread on here, and as well as arguing about the m5's status as a sleeper or not it was mostly about peoples experiences getting their arses handed to them at the lights by sleepers. Don't get me wrong, these stories are awesome, however, I was specifically asking for details of individual cars, build threads etc etc to which there seem to be very few of.
