First Casualty of the rain.... (F458 Marlow)
Discussion
In fairness, i drive this junction everyday on my commute. I only have a poxy mondeo but even in the wet, the grip can seem very limited as the outside lane is very cut up. Also the corner it appears he lost it on is prone for being a good couple of inches deep in standing water.

Hello Wycombe83, where abouts in town are you from?

Funnily enough I didn't take the photo. It came up on FB after i drove past it and someone linked to a twitter feed of a guy who took it.
According to the friend who linked me, he stopped his car on the bridge, got out and took the photo. To which the woman replied with something nasty about why take a photo of a crashed car.

Just the clarify a couple of posts. There was an accident on this roundabout a couple of months ago. A fatality involving a single car killing a pedestrian on the bridge. In the process it seemed to dump a sumps worth of oil on the road surface, although that was further along from this scene.
I think it is a bit unfair some of you judging this without seeing the road surface. Driving it daily you get used to it but there are several bodge patch up jobs on this corner. Now it's no excuse to bin it but I drove this junction again last night after it had been raining. I do drive a diesel mondeo and even I felt it pushout going over some of these gaps in the road. It's probably just a case of first rain on a dry road causing it to go very greasy, mixed in with a bit of over confidence.
I can imagine today in his office might be a bit awkward.
Didn't know there were so many local PH's though!

It went into the fencing, which way or how i don't know. It has performed at least a 180 turn. If you want an aerial shot of the scene look at Junc 4 of the M40, head towards marlow on the A404, the first overhead roundabout is where it happened. It was on the side as if you were driving into marlow.

Just been round the spot and I do have to say it is rather slippy but I managed to avoid hitting anything!Perhaps the driver should stick to a R8 or 911TT to avoid this in the future. Also wondering which company on the high street.
It's not a shop front company, they have offices just off the main street. Again I know but don't want to post details for various reasons.Frik said:
I don't think we have an account for the weather at the time the 458 spun, but it's more than likely there could have easily been half an inch or more of water on the road.
If you're on about the original crash (start of this thread) then the previous day was bright and warm with the Thursday turning cold and wet. On off rain all day with standing water prominent on most of the road. Well this going to sound very vague now, but that Thursday I saw it I posted a status on Fb to which my friend replied saying are you on about this one? He hot linked me to his friend who had posted it, a Jack Watson. That's as much as I know. The Marlow Free Press emailed me from this thread asking to use the image to which I had to get the details from my friend.
There, that's all folks. But I do genuinely know people who work in the company of the guy who crashed it. Small world indeed!
