Maybe updating that forum is not the first thing on his mind at the moment.
Quite possibly, was only answering the comment.

I know, this is every parents biggest nightmare.

Or, a big fiery meteorite from outer space landing on the local primary school, wiping out several hundred of the poor wee lambs in one swift stroke. Even the merest thought that this tragic event COULD occur has me literally SOBBING LARGE WET TEARS for the poor wee CHILDREN who could be KILLED TO DEATH as a result of NEGLIGENT planning officers building a primary school on a potential meteor crash site. The wkers.
Oh absolutely agree, can't recall it ever happening though.Anddon't forget teh telephone masts. However I can recall someone dying through a road-rage incident. So on balance, I reckon there's slighty more chance of that.

Example, please, of a road rage death (other than the Kenneth Noye one - he'd kill you on a road or anwhere else that you inadvertently annoyed him).
That was the incident, the fact that he's of certain make -up is irrelevant. If you google, there's enough incidents of it's type.Or now, because the story appears to possibly not be Kosher have we moved the goalposts so that if you have violent tendencies that won't count as a road -rage event?

Really?

The chap, whoever he may be, has posted his car on the internet. That makes him fair game for any comments about his car, positive or negative, IMHO.
I agree with this.

Why take it down sjc? Is it yours? hehe

No different from the ebay / autotrader / classifieds pisstake that happens everyday. The car looks st with the badges on, come to think of it the car would look st with them off as well.

All IMO of course wink
No it's not mine,I posted mine earlier so you could take the piss out of mine instead of his, as he has nothing to do with this thread.
And of course you and the other warriors would go right up to the bloke and tell him what you think of his car wouldn't you? If you're not as big as that, then no he/his car isn't fair game.
Now where's me pipe?....

Do cars not crash into trees then?
Yes.

Cars crashing into trees as a result of a road rage incident. Lorry driver blocking road to stop other driver escaping (Other driver no intention of escaping as he wants to bend the ear of the lady in the wreckage). Discovers dead child. Then decides to attempt suicide. Attempt thwarted by hero Rover 75 driver who sits on driver until Police arrives?

Not often.
You'd be amazed what's happened to me in my 75. In fact only the other day......................................

Oh hang on.

Yes, the thread from here was linked-to over on Pistonheads, and there has been much debate on their forum regarding the story's authenticity. However as the OP requested the original post be closed because the thread had served it's purpose in highlighting the potential dangers of road rage, I see no reason to let it start up again here, therfore this thread is now closed also.

If anyone wishes to comment further along this line, may I suggest it be done over on the Pistonheads thread in question.
So they admit it is made-up rubbish.
"They" haven't admitted anything as far as I'm aware, and the mods probably couldn't anyway even if they did have an opinion.I'd imagine they're pretty hacked off though either way, true or false.
All joking aside, (and the humour in this thread has been dissapointingly crap compared with PH's usually high standard)there's some extremely generous members on there.
Won't bore you with the links but one unwitting youngster in his teens( yes there's even people under 30 on there) bought a 75 that he had to scrap,(at the time he had various other things going on as well and didn;t have a pot to piss in.).Hearing this, one member donated a car, several got involved for donating parts, time, lifts and financial help.Six weeks later they put it on a ferry over to the Isle of Wight and presented it to him, valeted, serviced and MOT'd.
That's more what the 75 forum is all about.

Off now to buy a nodding dog.

As a rather credulous person I fell for it initially, but am shocked that someone would do this.Sometimes one gets to wondering if such a person doesn't deserve something to happen to him - maybe then he'd learn what tragedy and sorrow can cause. Sow as ye would reap.
A comment like that makes you no better than him.In any case, how do you know it hasn't already?

This whole story/thread is a strange one. I've been following it from the beginning, was initially shocked, then my skepticism kicked in along with everyone elses. It's now pretty much obviously false, it reads like a chain email.

Yet...

Yesterday someone purposely and unnecessarily made it difficult for me to merge in turn, undertaking me to sit alongside me so that I had to brake quite hard. It's difficult to explain, but two roads merge from left to right to converge on a single roundabout. Neither lane has priority, but the guy in a Merc decided he was better and I would be in his way, so accelerated from behind me to cut in front.

I wasn't pleased at this, immediately changed down, with the thought 'i'll be straight past you as soon as the road straightens out'.

Oddly, this thread popped into my mind along with the original story and I just thought, no, let it go, not worth it.

Even though the story is obviously untrue, it still made me chill out.

If this is what the guy who wrote the story had wanted to achieve, then he's succeeded. That doesn't really make him a sick internet wierdo after all, does it?
Agreed with all of that, in fact I'd say my driving has partly chilled out due to both getting older and having a lot to loose with my job etc if i ever got into trouble.

But i think the gripes with this story are related to how the OP made it into a hero story for himself so he could get a threads worth of well done, i hope you are OK mate, rather than for a moral story. Somewhere along the lines he has used a story about the death of a little girl to give himself an ego boost, and thats where it all went pear shaped!
Hmm, I'd kind of forgotten about that. That is a bit desperate, isn't it?

It made me think twice though, so I'll let him off just this once.
All the comments above are pretty much my take on it.

The OP probably requested it to be deleted, that's proof enough that this story is all make believe with hadouken style rugby tackles.
The thing is, loads of other members read it and made comments in the thread. I can't believe that none of them have said anything.

Weird...
They have strongly, wink just not publicly.
