Can you do the above in a Range Rover? X5? Q7?

Or am I doomed to buy an XC90?

Don't want anything as big as a Disco and only looking to spend £15k-£20k.

pretty sure RR fits 3 in a row David, did you get my vmax mail btw matey>?
You mean the first one? I replied to that, haven't received anything since then.

Discos are just offensively big IMO. 2.7 tonnes and they must be a 'mare to park.
Q7 is a dainty supermini in comparison. Barely any longer than my Allroad.

But it's not how big on the outside, it's how wide (and flat) the rear seats are.
Will be taking part in school runs soon and nobody's going to help out picking our kids up if we can't reciprocate.

Don't want an MPV, good as the S-Max is. Want to retain 4x4 for snow and floods we occasionally get out here.

Seen that, but I want the space to put 2 child seats with either an adult in between or another child seat.

I always get the impression that the Disco is longer than a RR? Otherwise where does the 3rd row and huge boot fit in the car?

As I said, we only have 2 kids, but will frequently be asked to pick up another and/or a 3rd adult.

RR is about 5 inches longer than a disco 3 or 4
Really? Crikey, that's out then.

Anyone tried the latest X5s for such a scenario? I know they have a 7 seat option, but apparently the boot disappears and we also have 2 dogs!

Already got an A6 Allroad which I consider to be a big car and there is no chance of fitting 3 car seats across the back or seating an adult between 2.

Modern child car seats are just so wide and rear seats are usually biased toward seating two adults rather than three.
