Taxi on my lawn
Discussion
My first thought, how did that get there.
the other side of the fence is a big ditch, then a field, the road is some distance away
left the road here, sump broken already as the oil on the hedge
nice tyres
time for the driver to make a few calls
Then these guys turn up
did a bit of this
then this turned up
then it was gone.
How he could hit a tree stump hard enough to smash the sump, go through the hedge across the field over a steep rise in the field and still have enough momentum to clear the ditch, smash through the fence a stop not to far from my house was way beyond the comprehesion of us all, ( along with why the police decided not to prosecute for the tyres)

No idea of the brand, they were pretty smooth all over, I will have another look in the morning, its dumped in the field still, the lifting strap broke while the fork lift had it 6 feet in the air, but I guess the suspension was shot anyway. No junction or bend where left the road, claims he was avoiding a white van which was across the white line. " I am gonna find that white van" said the driver. mmm good luck with that then, they are quite rare!G350 said:
Great pics!
Any sign of skid marks further up the road?
Do you know who called the cops?
Do you think the airbags went off when the car ripped the tree stump out or seconds later when it smashed into and bounced over that deep ditch?
ETA, the police said "no one was hurt, and a st car is off the road for good, sort of a result"

Just got back, thought I would answer a couple of questions.
Tyre started life as one of these
I am not saying the state of the tyres in any way contributed to the 'off' and brakeing across that field would have been of little value. He could have yanked the handbrake and brought the rear end round to avoid the ditch, but he would have had no idea it was there until one of his passengers proclaimed " oh st, look out for that.....ditch"
There is NO WAY his front tyres would pass an MOT, the police confirmed this, but for the purpose of prosecution they were on the limit.
To those who question what the fuss about the tyres is all about, well if you ordered a Taxi on a rainy night and this front wheel drive Pug turned up, assuming you spotted the state of the tyres, would you get in, well would you?
Yes the plate on the Cerb is questionable, but it does pass MOT, and as yet, a technicaly incorrect spacing on a number plate has not yet been known to cause injury to any living thing.
NO prosecution for the driver, and the Taxi firms insurance will be paying for the fence.
Gonna spend the afternoon mowing the lawn due to the observations made, come on guys, its Spring, only just started to grow. I will post pictures in a month so you can admire the evenness of my cut and perfectly straight lines from the roller.
