996 Turbo - steel mesh on the radiator vents

Had the car a couple of weeks and have read a few reports about fitting mesh behind the front vents to prevent stones and debris hitting the radiators; anybody on here done this and what have you used?
How easy is it to remove the front bumper and fit the stuff?
