I think its bonkers and yet more evidence that the market can't go on forever.
Everything is being dragged into the so called 'collectors' net. They are great cars. I'll continue to use and enjoy mine, what others do is up to them. I know I'd rather have the memories of driving them then a few % more on the eventual sticker price.

Wasn't it a 100k track day car when it came out? You're all prima donnas for not driving them because of their value. If you're worried about shunting it at least you know you're driving it properly! Well, as close to properly as possible at the given time....
The best 996RS out there is the one that has already been bent, those owners car enjoy their cars conscience free!

Its definitely rarer, but its certainly not better in my opinion. As a road and track car the 997 series is the pinnacle in RS/GT3 form. The RS' are a bit garish for the road but they make it up for it with shorter gearing and a responsive chassis. It'll never be bettered now that we are into hybrid tech and playstation gearboxes.

its obviously easy to take the front cage out but if you do so, what permanent signs remain? Is it just the hole in the carpet?
Believe so. The cage attaches itself to the main structure and then runs inside the door frame down into the driver footwell. So the hole in the main frame/cage gets blocked up and then you're left with the floor cavity, you can fill that too with a plastic cap and then the carpet. I've done it before. The front cage is a total pain in the arse. Gassing Station | 911/Carrera GT | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
