Recently sold a 997 GT3 Clubsport to fund a 991 GT3 due Dec . Already missing not having a special car . Today I've been offered a low mileage white manual cayman R for mid to high 30,s . Buckets and Spyder wheels . I'm tempted to jump into it for the next 4 months .....thoughts .

1) Will it be a huge let down after 997 ?

2) Will it be a hard sell in Dec ?

Crystal ball time I know but just after some opinions .

I considered a Cayman R and Definately a good stop gap.
Who knows you may actually enjoy it so much you keep it.
I'm sure others have.

PS I'm loving the gt3
Pleased your enjoying it . Even more so now I wish I could have afforded to keep both !

Well that turned out to be an expensive decision going to OPC to change my wheels back to standard finish on my Nov build 991 GT3

Mint 10,000m CaymAn R had just been dropped off . Manual , PSE , Buckets , Spyder Wheels , A/c , bi xenon s and some other bits and bobs . Topped off with 2 yr warranty . Bought as a stop gap until 991 GT3 arrives . Would love to keep both but likely this will be going up for sale Dec .....

1: no it's a better road car than your 997 (well a CAYMAN is), you won't want to part with it.

2: you should make a tidy sum if you are buying mid 30's as most are well over 40k now, there is only 1 for sale at a OPC and that's £45k

Has all the right spec I think Paul so good purchase plus the warranty will still have longevity for the new owner which makes it attractive as the gt3 you sold me has.

Cayman R's have a good following so never a bad trade also you have it In the best colour scheme.

Have to say having seen your garage both would look awesome if you could possibly keep the two.
Great combo
Cheers , Having the 2 together for at least a couple of months is very appealing . Maybe even try and get the other half to keep this instead of her current wheels . This has all come from changing the wheels to silver then back to titanium !!!

Message received and understood :-)

It's much easier when it's just numbers to deal with. .

Called into OPC today to have a look at a GT2 RS they have in and checked build status on the GT3 while there . Now confirmed 5/11 so time to start thinking about selling the Cayman R .

It's only been 4 weeks but grown really attached to the car . Great Daily Driver and perfect car for the rural area I live in . Going to do some sums over the weekend to see I can find a way to keep both .

But just incase I can't there may be a fantastic spec low mileage R coming to market late Oct ,early Nov with 23 month Porsche Warranty. The car is that good OPC have offered what I gave them to have the car back .

PM me if anyone is looking .

Y'day drove mine 2hrs in sheer comfort to a track day, turned all the track paraphernalia on and had a hoot for 5 hours then drove it 2hrs back again. Oh and picked up some food at the supermarket on the way home,
Hope she performed well . Which track. ?

OP have you sold the Cayman yet?
Give me a chance . It's only been up for sale for 16hrs ! ( still not 100% sure I'm not just going to keep it as my daily driver.! )

Keep it you will def miss it, or sell it now and forget how well the steering feels Befor you get the new one.:-)

My mate would buy it but it's about a month to soon for him

Great spec car thoug. Rare with xenons but then no leather. Cannot have it all.
I miss xenons but have leather , not many cars with every thing.

Has it got the SS ? Cheap to fit if not.
I'll be hunting for an R in a years time , I'm sure . What is SS ? Exhaust ? If so yes has PSE .

Agreed a sale today although deposit not cleared yet , so haven't removed ad. I'm really not fussed if it doesn't sell . I'll just need to clear the other side of the garage out !
