Im having trouble deciding what my next toy should be 996 X50 manual or 996 GT2 comfort pack , ive heard all the scarey storys about the GT2 but prefer the styling and im prity used to scareing my self half to death , ive been driving a 420bhp Noble M12 for the last 3 years.
But what is the sensable buy out of these 2 if there is such a thing, my head says 996 X50 my pants say GT2 .
Just wondered what the genral concensus was about these 2 supercars, oh and just for record my other toy is my long time dependable 964 Carrera 2 and this is the 1st time ive contemplated a water cooled 911
Any constructive coments would be appreciated
Cheers Mark

Thanx for the advice really appreciate it.... im off to Brands tommorow in the 964 , better not turn up in something put together in a shed LOL!!
And will try and track down some owners and have a chat , but yes ive been offered both cars through a freind and im most deffinetly going to take a punt on one... My other half isnt to happy about me buying another toy but i keep telling her its an investment so it might just have to be the GT2!!

Hi unclepezzla (sorry if I got that wrong) didnt get your invertation to chat to you untill I got home!!
Which one was yours as I only saw 3-996, x GT2's at Brands 2 x siver and one red one... but what a great gathering I was literally 911'd out by the end of the day, and would love to have caught up with you for a chat, damm damm damm!
And yes love my 964 ( like a good dependable good wife) but my Noble M12 can only be discrbed as a mistress
( so exciting but always getting you into trouble!!)
So im thinking its going to be the GT2...didnt know they were so bloody rare, and again thanx for all of your replys.........hope my wife doesnt read this (lol)

Seems ive been led up the garden path about this this as on friday just gone I was told if I was intrested this particular car was for sale..... I only found that out as I was going to look at a 996 tt X50 and I wont mention any names but theytold me a 996 Gt2 was avaliable so I spent the weekend getting to grips of what they were all about ... then on monday afternoon spoke to the person that I wont mention he made some calls came back to me and said 911box had had it and it was now sold so I assumed it was sold over the weekend.
But enuff nit picking im just about to get on the phone about the siver one on pistonheads as I now want one!!!

Its the one up in Yorkshire ... ive been chating to Mark and John today and sent them somme photos of my gorgeous 964 .. witch I would keep if I had somewhere dry to keep it for the winter!
I did want the comfort model as I had spinal surgery last year but nothing around at 50k
It sounds a pretty wicked machine with lots of engine mods and 12 month warrantie , I will let you know how negotiations go,,, not to keen on rear spoiler and wheels but guess thats just personal taste and orig wheels are available ( i hope)
Does the Club sport come with aircon,, (is that a silly question)

Ok thanx for that.... im wondering why as it seems to tick all the boxes.
Its had a great deal of dosh thrown at it , sorry did you say GT2 had a carbon rear boot lid, if so does that go for the front as well?
