996 IMS bearing options and Oil leak
Discussion
So my 1998 3.4 went for an MOT and service. All fine MOT wise.
The garage reported an oil leak from the top of the engine and reckon its an oil cooler seal failing.
Gear box out ect ect......
So if I go down this route and get it fixed it seems logical to do the IMS bearing and RMS and possibly clutch.
Are LM Engineering the only manufacturer of "upgraded" bearings? I've never been a fan of after market parts, I understand that LM engineering's bearing is good. I've used the search options and LM are the only ones that come up, are there any other options? OEM part maybe? Did Porsche correct the IMS weakness?
The car has done 86K miles.
Thanks,
Dave
