What`s all the fuss with 911s?
Discussion
Bought my first 911 today. I hadn`t even driven this particular car and bought it unseen from the best `specialist dealer` I have ever dealt with and it was beyond immaculate. I drove it home from the south of England to the west of Scotland.
The traffic was horrendous (bad timing with holiday) and sitting nose to tail for what seemed like an eternity in a manual car wasn`t much fun and for the first 300 odd miles it was just another car.
Got off the motorway, leaving the traffic and had my last 80 miles on a virtually empty winding A road past midnight.
It was then I decided to actually `drive it`. Phenomenal. Totally blew away. I get it now.

I'm doing the very same thing on Weds.
London to Carlisle is my self-delivery/get-to-know drive.
I plan on coming off the M6 at Lancaster and enjoying the whole Lake District in my new toy, before parking at home and sleeping...
Well, it wasn`t till I came off the M6 north of Carlisle until it `clicked`. I`ll give it a wash and fire up a couple of snaps.London to Carlisle is my self-delivery/get-to-know drive.

from car purchase date, how quickly did you get your plate assigned? It looks like it's all web based now, in past years I have queued with the motor dealers in a local DVLA office were it was done on the spot, but now/......?
Generally takes a week so technically I cannot use my car with that plate on it but it`s being garaged while I work for the week anyway.Gassing Station | 911/Carrera GT | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
