Is the 3.6 really more reliable than the 3.8 or is it simply there are less examples out there to fail? Is IMS failure still a concern at this age? Can child/baby seats be fitted in the rear allowing any room to be left up front?

At not a whole heap of beans more than a decent low mileage 996 carrera & two thirds of the price of a generation two car, dare I say they look appealing value for money if nothing else?

Any advice great fully appreciated smile

Have you had a look at the Hartech website for a bit of info?
I have but I was interested in some owners personal experiences

Yes I've seen a few child seats that fit however a baby carrier is what's needed first and I think they're quite a bit bulkier.

I wonder if there's isofix anchors on the front seats?

I want aware of any isofix options personally but I found the above photo on a link from another web page about the 997.1 -no idea if it was even an option in the uk but it must have been somewhere.

Surely a 997 non s would be in the same risk camp as a 996 c4s. I also agree though 996 c4s will hold value well as people just seem to love the look.
Not that I'm an expert on the m96/97 engines but I figured the 3.6 was the same across both models.
