Porsche applied PPF
Discussion
Hi
Has anyone had PPF installed by Porsche themselves, rather than after-market? I know that the the film which they apply is good (XPEL Ultimate), but I'm interested in any observations as to the standard of installation. This is on a new car so paint correction is not an issue, and to be done at Reading.
Thanks!

Good to hear all.
I think the porsche paint is pretty good from the factory, except for the usual orange peel. Unless going for a level 5 detail / wet sand, I'm not sure it needs a detailer's touch. + Porsche have quoted much, much less than at least 2 popular PPF installers so unless their work is not up to par I'd rather have them do it.

Had mine done at Reading last week. Picked up the car Sat. We inspected the car before it was fuitted and had a detailer ensure the paint was good and mark free first.
The wrap is ok but you can see the edges, especially when muck gets on them on a Yellow car lol.
There have been a number of objects that have hit it and stuck - bugs, etc. They seem to clean off ok.
So far so good.
Thanks OldBob. Any chance you could post photos of the edges? They should be very hard to spot. The wrap is ok but you can see the edges, especially when muck gets on them on a Yellow car lol.
