OK, so deposit paid and due for delivery in April 2017. I've gone for C2 GTS model and my heart is saying manual, and head is saying PDK. I'm not a big fan of PDK or any semi-auto boxes etc, but keep getting feedback that PDK will ensure an easy sale if I decide to move on after a year. Any thoughts, knowledge much appreciated! I'm probably going for manual unless it will lose me a fortune.

Thanks - are there any reviews on PH of the 7-Speed box? Would be good to look into these.

Thanks CMoose. I'm coming out of an F10 M5 and whilst I loved the car, I was bored by the auto. I've got a 981 Spyder for the analogue thing. Re the 911, I just fancy a new 911 and this is the only new one that attracts me at the moment.

Thanks. Agree that we should buy the car you want, I just want to make sure it's not idiocy come resale. Sounds like it's very much 50:50 and that's fine. It's manual for me I think.

OK, so based on this, what are the must haves for the 991.2 GTS. I want to keep price under £100k.

Thanks, that's very helpful. I'm hoping to keep this until a kind OPC offers me a GT3.

So, having finalised the order today I decided to for PDK. I borrowed a C4S for 24 hours with PDK and it was great - so no need to 'risk' going down the manual route. Final Spec:

- GT Silver
- PDK
- Glass Sunroof
- Sport Design Pack
- Heated Seats
- Multifunction Steering Wheel
- Parking Sensors
- Leather Interior
- Bose

Think thats it and its coming mid-April 2017.

This is the final result. The only option I/OPC were unsure about was the £0.00 option for PASM with -10mm? Anyone know what this is about given that it comes -10mm as standard?

I went for Leather only, not the extended GTS pack (another £2k). The Sports Design Pack is very subtle, but does add that 'something' akin to a Duck Tail. Subtle, but shows up nicely on Silver. Wouldnt bother with darker colours.

Did you choose the GTS interior with extended leather or just a leather interior? Interesting that you went for the sports design pack, it is very subtle but it does look nice with GT silver.

The press repots on the rear wheel steering are very good - I just couldn't keep adding options and the dealers view was that's it better to spend on some of the 'boring stuff' if I want to pritect residuals (e.g Heated Seats, Parking Sensors, Bose etc). But as I'm writing this, I'm thinking twice!!!!

I'm finalising my spec now, although I understand that the press get to drive/review the GTS on 1st Feb. I'm not going for the GTS interior I'm not keen on it, especially the red rev counter. What is the view on rear wheel streering?

Final Time : Has anyone here driven the manual in 997.2 and can they give me a definitive view of it. My 981 Spyder has the 6 speed manual, which I love so would just be good to get a final opnion as I cant find a manual 911 to drive!

The Sport Design gives you a nice, subtle, chnage to the rear spoiler only. I'm now tempted by the RWS. Mine's due in April, apparently it's one of the first of the delivery line.

rosino said:
I don't get it what does the Sport Design do ? A more aggressive front bumper and also something at the back ?

For me full leather would be absolute essential. A 911 with plastic dash just looks horrid. Didn't even know it was possible to have it so basic as the S has full leather as standard from memory. So are heated seats, rain sensor, Bose, parking with camera. I would add RWS I had it on my GT3 and it transformed the car from previous 911. I would also go for the -20mm suspension. Not sure the lift is necessary and would add weight which is superfluous.

I had a metal sunroof in my 991.1 S and I liked it from the inside but it looked completely wrong from outside. And gives rattles and rigidity issues so not sure I would have it again. But the glass one does look nicer.

When are first deliveries on these if you order now ?

Thanks Fokker. The OPC has advised that for resale I need Bose, Heated Seats, Multi-function Steering Wheel & Parking Sensors. If I ditched all of them I would go RWS & GTS Interior.

Fokker said:
I have your spec in a .1 991 GTS. The GT Silver is stunning.
I have GTS interior pack with red stitching, it really makes a difference to the interior. I know some people don't think the carbon is worth it and I didn't used to think so but after speccing my gt4 with brushed aluminium, the carbon is a far better choice having had both.

Mine came to 105900 new in 2015. If resale is important to you then GTS interior pack is a must for only another 2k.on top of leather. If speccing for yourself then it's nice to have but go with your preference. Well done for changing the wheels to centre locks too!

Thanks Fokker. I'm coming to the same conclusion. Looks like Bose & Sensors are key (they should be standard!).

With regard to interior, I'm putting Leather in, but not the GTS stitching (£2k plus)....

Have to lock down by 31st January so plenty of time to chnage my mind!
