I had a look around a nice low mileage example today and am quite interested but wanted a bit of advice from you guys. Is there anything obvious I should be asking about? Is the price currently about right? Seems to match with other examples with similar mileage. What are typical depreciation costs like at the moment on 997.2TTs? They don't seem to have moved much recently and not that you can trust the salesman but he thought they hadn't moved much for the last year. Depreciation isn't that important, but nice to know what I would be getting into.

Absolutely stunning colour.
Ha, see what you mean. I'm not sure if I prefer black, but black is very common and this colour wasn't available as a standard option on the 7.2 Turbo S according to the man. It's Ruby Red Metallic if anyone knows otherwise.

I've lived with a TVR with a sports exhaust and decat for 6 years, my ears need a break!

Thanks for the comments guys, gives me a bit more confidence.

Would you guys recommend getting an HPI check done and an independent inspection? Would the results of the 111 point check be enough? The car is going to have a major service done before being sold as the last two services were both minor ones. Also the car has had 4 owners, should that be a concern?

I believe that car has an incomplete service history, wrong services and not done on time? When a car is top money these things need to be right, because the next buyer will be bothered about it.
Service history is:

10/2012 8000 miles minor
07/2015 13429 miles minor

That second service is a year late and minor instead of major, but also only 5k miles between. It has now done 18.5k without an official major service, although as London GT3 said, it was only plugs that were not done for that second service.

If that stops you buying a car that otherwise meets your requirements then you probably need to buy new.
Thanks for the info London, good to know a bit more about the history. The only reason it is giving me reason for pause is due to how it may look to a future purchaser. It is a slight blemish on an otherwise great car, and when they are asking slightly above similar examples you wouldn't expect that. When the second service is late and minor instead of major it would make you wonder if the car has been cared for properly around those times. All someone will probably see in the history is minor minor. I do plan on keeping the car for a while in which case it probably wouldn't matter as much, but you never know.

However for peace of mind you could get Peter Morgan to undertake an inspection for you.
Yes, I had booked him to do an inspection tomorrow. However, it's gone now anyway, so not my problem any more. The search will continue...

Is it the lack of centre lock wheels, that is stopping this one being snapped up ?
No, it's because it is in Belfast. I'd have gone to see it otherwise.

Looks like the moral of the story is to move fast when you find one you like. I've registered on the Porsche used approved locator and Autotrader, tried registering on JZM but their site is broken. What other dealers should I keep an eye on?

I found another one that has the manual sports seats instead of the adaptive ones. Weren't the ASSs standard equipment on the Turbo S? Seems like an odd choice to change them. Is there much difference between them in comfort? I guess the major difference for me would be the lack of memory settings.
